Over the course of a six-week antepartum hospital stay, I painted over 30 small watercolor paintings to help pass the time while awaiting the birth of our third child. It's not really that many given the length of my stay - some days, I wasn't motivated at all - sitting in a sterile environment, away from my family, impatient; on other days, work poured out of me. I don't know how to categorize this random assortment of pieces, which I painted with no other intent except to bring myself a dose of joy - there was no goal or theme in mind. They simply pushed me through a very slow, yet chaotic, time in my life - my providers of peace, passers of time.
